Alternative energy sources

In the realm of industrial innovation, Chemat Sp. z o.o. stands at the forefront of implementing efficient and effective technologies in the field of alternative energy sources. As I have noted, our expertise spans the design and construction of technological installations, steel structures, and the modernization of existing industrial facilities. We cater to the chemical, food, spirits, and fuel industries.

The importance of renewable energy sources continues to grow, and discussions around this topic are becoming increasingly prevalent in business meetings. For this reason, integrating renewable energy solutions is a crucial component of energy management for a burgeoning enterprise. Moreover, it is essential to remember that what one plant considers waste, another can utilize it as an energy resource. Thus, Chemat Sp. z o.o. is dedicated to providing innovative solutions that support sustainable industrial practices and foster environmental responsibility.

Optimizing Energy Costs: Electric and Thermal Energy

In today’s challenging economic landscape, businesses and households face significant difficulties regarding energy consumption. After all, electric and thermal energy are indispensable. It’s impossible to function without them. Business owners constantly seek ways to optimize production processes. They aim to reduce energy consumption and, consequently, the associated costs.

At Chemat, we modernize plants by recovering energy from waste streams for secondary use. For example, technological installations need heat energy. Bioethanol facilities require high-energy steam, often generated with coal or gas.

However, the high costs of heating agents pressure profitability, sometimes causing production cutbacks. Nonetheless, we are dedicated to finding solutions. We have these solutions ready and are eager to implement them in our production and other enterprises.

Is It Possible to Completely Eliminate Coal?

To begin with, to replace coal, we need viable alternatives. Currently, most production facilities still rely on conventional power sources. So, what can we offer as substitutes? Alternative energy sources, of course. One primary alternative resource is RDF (Refuse-Derived Fuel), which encompasses a wide range of high-calorific-value wastes (around 18 MJ/kg). The circular economy concept emphasizes that products, materials, and resources should be used for as long as possible, and waste generation should be minimized.

Correspondingly, aligning with this principle, we aim to close production cycles, reduce waste generation, and utilize waste, for example, through combustion. For instance, why not harness the high calorific value of waste to generate energy? This goal is our primary direction, especially amid the current energy crisis.

Additionally, as a team, we are open to new ideas, which we analyze, research, and then implement. The ongoing crisis motivates us even more to take decisive action. Moreover, we are deeply convinced that it is entirely possible to eliminate coal. The only prerequisite is to implement installations for burning other high-energy materials, compliant with current emission standards. Nevertheless, obtaining permits for such installations is both challenging and time-consuming.

Building RDF Alternative Fuel Boiler Houses

We are preparing to build boiler houses for RDF (Refuse-Derived Fuel). Administrative procedures are still ongoing, but we hope to start this crucial energy project soon. Given that the high current prices of conventional fuels, we hope this process will gain momentum. Moreover, we want to dispel any concerns about additional gas emissions and environmental pollution—our incineration plants will feature advanced flue gas cleaning systems. Once the project is implemented in our facility, we will proceed with its application in other companies.

This project will bring significant benefits to our enterprise and even the local community. First, we will produce energy from unconventional resources, reducing our dependence on fossil fuels. Second, we will generate the technological steam needed in our processes economically. Additionally, the installation will be equipped with an advanced flue gas cleaning system and quality monitoring, ensuring the process is safe for both the environment and the local community. Ultimately, we believe that our activities contribute to the country’s economic development while promoting solutions that significantly help protect the environment and climate.

Biogas Plant

At Chemat, we employ experts in biofuels, bioethanol, and biogas plants. Importantly, renewable energy includes energy from waste. In addition to RDF alternative fuel boiler houses, our technological park includes a biogas plant. In the process of methane fermentation, biogas is produced, which, through cogeneration, generates both electricity and heat. Thus, waste is used in biogas production, closing the cycle and aligning with circular economy principles.

However, the country still has too few biogas plants. Ideally, every agricultural or food processing plant should have one nearby to utilize production waste (such as manure or slurry) and use the generated power for their own needs. Furthermore, we strive to reduce CO2 emissions and reuse waste in all our activities.

As a matter of fact, as a Research and Development Center, we continuously conduct research and develop new projects related to the implementation of innovative technological solutions for the industry. Indeed, none of this would be possible without our dedicated team. Ultimately, our experts and passionate professionals guarantee the success of every investment.
